All the alphabet are joined to form words and from words, it will be combined into a sentence. If you really want to understand what the Koreans are talking about, you must know that your grammar and sentence structure are very important. First of all, in languages like English, the basic syntactic structure is S-V-O ( subject -verb- object) unlike Korean is S-O-V (subject-Object- Verb).
Here subject (S) , Object (O) , verb(V) , Noun (N) , Adjective (A)
Here subject (S) , Object (O) , verb(V) , Noun (N) , Adjective (A)
But, Korean doesn't use the same sentence structure rule with English.
Example
(Korean) |
브르수(는) 사과(를) 먹었다.
(beu-reu-su neun sa-gua reul meok-eoss-da) [ Bruce apple ate] Bruce -S
Apple -O Eat -V So, in Korean S-O-V 1. 리사(는) 학생입니다. Lisa is a student (S+N)
2. 리사(는) 정말예뻐요. Lisa is very pretty (S+A) |
In Korean there have Topic Marker는/은 , place after every subject and Object Marker 를/을 place after the object.
Making a sentence to a Question
Example in English , the sentence is she wears a dress, but the question will be asked in this way : Does she wear a dress? but in the Korean language, both the sentence and question do not change the sentence structure or sequence .
Let's see this :
Let's see this :
이것은 책입니까?
이것은 책입니다.
이것은 책입니다.
We can summarize that English sentence structure is different than Korean sentence structure. therefore, if you are keen in learning the Korean language, you won't find this difference as a hindrance and you may actually take this as a challenge to yourself to learn a new language.
